My Thoughts

The Belle
When I got the pitch for this book, I was immediately intrigued. You can sell almost any book to me with the words destination romance or travel romance or takes place in ________. I love stories that take place in other countries, especially romances. I can relate to them *ahem* and I always like to see how a happily ever can play out in a beautiful location.

Finding love while traveling is a unique experience and Jo Watson nailed it. It's exciting, it's invigorating, it's romantic...but what I loved about the heroine and her experience was she kept it real. Jane was a great heroine. Major spaz, riddled with anxiety, but oh-so-relatable. At least, I thought she was. I loved her eccentricities and freak out moments, they felt real. I loved that she called all the bullshit on Dmitri as he was trying to woe her. Because let's be real, any woman with a brain would be thinking this is way too good to be true/how many times has he done this before? Luckily for Jane, the answer is never. (We all don't get this answer and I found out the hard way in my own experience by asking a question I didn't want the answer to..."Well, you're the only girl I've kissed on THIS tour."...*defeated face*...I digress.)

So personally, I loved this side of Jane. I loved that she didn't swoon immediately and kept a good head on her shoulders. I loved that at the same time she wanted to try and get out of her comfort zone and take what she wanted. It was this fantastic opposition in her that really made me relate and fall in love with her.

Speaking of love, Dmitri is 10 kinds of hot and his love for Greece and his people made me wanna book a plane ticket immediately. Which let's be real, will probably happen sooner than later hopefully. I absolutely adored how into Jane he was and how open and vocal he was about his feelings. I don't know what I fell more in love with, Greece or Dimitri or Dimitri's family come to think of it. The Greek setting and family dynamic was so fun to read about and I seriously want so much more!

The Beast
I want more. I want more of this couple and this book! Please, please, please write an epilogue five years in the future so I can see their lives and babies and baclava.

If you love travel, romance, and Greece...this book is for you.

  1. Travel + love story? Sign me up! I have the same reaction when I hear of books like this one, and I immediately added it to my list of books to potentially read one day.
